Parking passes will be available July 23 and 24
• Polk County High School will be releasing schedules to students on the following dates: seniors--July 17, juniors--July 18, sophomores and freshmen--July 19. These dates are the first days the schedules will be made available, however, schedules will be available for pick-up throughout the summer daily from 8-2. It is highly encouraged that schedules are obtained during the summer in order to check them for inaccuracies and request any possible changes before school begins. No schedule changes will be made after August 10.
• Parking passes will be made available to students from 8:00-2:00 beginning on the following dates: seniors--July 23 and juniors--July 24. Passes will be available throughout the summer from 8:00-2:00 after these dates. They will be given on a first come first serve basis and the student must be present in order to receive the parking pass. Students must have all of the following in order to receive a pass: a photocopy of the student’s driver’s license, a photocopy of the student’s proof of insurance, a $10 parking payment, and a parent signed PCHS parking pass form. Parking passes will not be granted without all of these items. The PCHS parking pass forms are available in the office daily from 8:00-2:00. Students must have their photocopies before requesting the parking pass and no photocopies will be made in the office.
• Cleveland State Community College will be hosting a dual enrollment meeting at Polk County High School on Tuesday July 24 at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. Students who will be enrolled in a dual enrollment class during the upcoming school year and their parents are invited to attend. The meeting will be led by CSCC Director of Student Relations Jason Sewell. Mr. Sewell will be discussing a wide range of topics related to dual enrollment such as qualification requirements, registration information, scholarship money, etc. Attendance is not required, but is highly encouraged.
• PCHS now has a Twitter account. Students and parents can follow the school @pocohigh. The account is intended to be an information source for PCHS students and parents.
Polk County’s road committee met last Tuesday to go over the list of county roads in an attempt to have an updated list that includes all county roads with their proper names as well as the mileage for the roads.
