Chronic Disease management class slated
Etowah Area Senior Citizens Center along with Southeast Tennessee Agency on Aging and Disability (SETAAAD) will be sponsoring a FREE class on Chronic Disease Self Management at Benton United Methodist Church.
As we grow older we expect to get some aches, pains, and health changes. For chronic disease, there is no age limit; young people are also affected. The classes are two hours each week for six weeks and are interactive. During these weeks we give you the tools to help you self manage your condition and take control of your life. Weeks one to three you will learn more about self management and chronic conditions and learn techniques to better manage and cope with your symptoms. Weeks four to six you will learn about better communication with your family and care givers, better communication between your doctors and health systems, and create future plans.
By no means is everything covered in these classes. We teach and empower you to take control of your life and chronic conditions! In the FREE book “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions” more subjects are covered than we actually have time for in class. This book is a great reference tool, which can be referred to time and again.
Classes begin July 20th and space is limited. The spaces will go fast so please call Jeannie Ruthem at 263-9780 to reserve your space.
