LIBRARY AMNESTY In order to bring in all overdue books to the East and West Polk Libraries, until the end of July patrons can bring in all overdue library books without charges for overdue days. This is to aid the library in having all books returned before the move to the new location in Benton. Thanks for your help in returning all overdue library books!

BOANERGES BAPTIST CHURCH sonlight express Vacation Bible School from June 10-15. On June 10th, a Cookout will be held at 4pm, VBS begins at 6 pm. VBS starts every other day from 7 pm and lasts until 9 pm. For more information, call Jeremy Dill at 423-715-7745.

VACATION BUSINESS SCHOOL for ages 3 years to teen at First Baptist Church on June 11-15 from 6:00 to 8:30.

CANCER SUCKS Motorcycle riding benefit to benefit the Thompson Cancer Survival Center will be held June 23rd. Registration is at the Blue Ridge Mtn. Art Center in Blue Ridge, from 10 am to 12 pm. Kickstands up at 12. An additional registration outpost will be located at the Pavilion in Tellico Plains, registration lasting from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Cost is $30 per bike, $40 for 2 riders. The ride ends next to Coyote Joe’s in Knoxville. Contact Van for more information, 865-323-5442.

All things WOOD.  The work of Marty Stover will be featured in the front window of the Valley River Arts Guild Gallery for the month of June. Marty enjoys the challenge of designing and making unique pieces of furniture and household accessories.   The gallery is located at 33 Valley River Ave. in downtown Murphy. SAFE HAVEN Animal Rescue is in need of people who have fenced in yards to foster dogs.  We provide all food and veterinary care including spaying and neutering. Our existing foster families are overwhelmed with the number of dogs in our possession.  We work hard to find forever homes by advertising on Petfinder and Pooches on the Move.
