CBHS Auto Tech team progresses

The Copper Basin Automotive Technology Department recently competed in the Ford AAA automotive competition. This is a two-part competition involving a written exam and a hands-on event. The written exams are used to select the top ten scores to move on to the hands-on competition. This year, Senior Cody Chapman and Junior Dylan Raper from Copper Basin High School, scored fourth in the state on the written exams. They will be competing in Nashville, Tennessee in May.
The winner in Nashville will advance to the national competition held in Michigan. In the "hands-on" competition, new Ford Motor Company vehicles are uniformly "bugged" so that each team has identical malfunctions to diagnose and repair. The competition requires repairs to be made with the highest quality workmanship in the lowest total time. The winning two-person team from each state and their instructor are provided expense-paid trips to the national finals in June.
