The 28th annual Labor Day Bar-B-Q in downtown Blue Ridge, will be held rain or shine on Monday September 1st from 11:30 to 6 pm.
A variety of bluegrass, gospel and old time music groups are scheduled from 11:30 to 6 pm. Enjoy your choice of St. Louis-style pork ribs or chicken cooked the old fashioned way over wood coals on a 4-foot grill. Dinner with all the fixin's for only $9 this year and includes tea and home made brownies or pound cake. Pulled pork BBQ sandwiches are also available with all the fixin’s for $7. You can picnic under an oak in the railway park or at a table in the dining area. You can purchase your tickets when you come to the park or in advance from participating churches or the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce.
The Labor Day Bar-B-Q is sponsored by the Good Samaritans of Fannin County, Inc. a nonprofit association of Blue Ridge area churches open to all area churches to participate. In the Spirit of interdenominational cooperation, Baptist, Charismatic, Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, and Methodist Churches join hands across denominational lines to support the benevolent works of the Good Samaritans of Fannin County. The Bar-B-Q is the primary fund-raiser for the Good Samaritans and additional contributions are always welcome!
