James Lee Jones, age 35, of Decatur, GA, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008. “Lee” was born in Fannin County and was preceded in death by his mother Kathy Diane Ritchie Payne. He graduated from Fannin County High School in 1992.

He is survived by a brother, Wesley Jones of Blue Ridge, GA; Father John Jones of Buford, GA; nephew Tyler Jones of Blue Ridge, GA; Grandfather, James Jones of Blue Ridge, GA; Great Grandmother, Mrs. Wesley Jones of the Jacks River area of Epworth, GA; Aunts & Uncles, Luther & Virginia Mathis, Tommy & Wanda Millsaps, Roger Ritchie, Johnny & Diane Ritchie and Carol Baliles, all of Copperhill, TN; Doris Ritchie of McCaysville, GA; Lavern & Lois Jones of Turtletown, TN; Dean & Mary Mashburn of Murphy, NC; Frances & L.G. Hamilton of Hiawassee, GA; Linda & Bill Underhill of OK; Tommy & Jean Ritchie of Dalton, GA; Jimmy & Tammy Jones of Wyoming; Randall & Billy Jones of Blue Ridge, GA;  Many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends survive.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. Pallbearers included Johnny Ritchie, Roger Ritchie, Lavern Jones, Jo Mathis, Robert Ensley, Luther Mathis and Dean Mashburn. Interment followed in the Lebanon Baptist Church cemetery. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill in charge of the arrangements.
